My Summer by Coral Short

This summer I had the pleasure of performing at The Floating World at the New Jersey Conference Center on July 30th.  I was curated by the one and only Aliza Shapiro.  She sadly had a brain hemorrhage and was unable to attend the event. Please click here for more information if you know and care about Aliza.

I had the pleasure of working with 6 lovely new unicorns: Wesley Flash, Gaël Krajzman Johns, Lyndon Cudlitz, Ashley, Krys Richardson and the unicorn trainer Anne Grip.  Thank you to Sarah Fuchs to providing me with the excellent musical selections.

Also earlier in the summer I had the honour of carrying L.J. Robert‘s work on the dyke march in New York on June 25th.  Here is a photo of us carrying this large weaving created on a jacquard loom.  This photo below was tumbled hundreds of times and was in Pop up Museum Of Queer History at the Leslie/Lohman Gallery in New York…

Back in Montreal, I was delighted to present a curation on August 13th  by André Azevedo from the MIX Film Festival in New York entitled Insert Here at Pervers/Cité.

In September right on the equinox weekend I was happily performing City of Sighs,  a performance where I sighed 1,000 times.  This piece was a cover of Alexis O’Hara‘s work and was a part of the VENT Performance Art Festival curating by the talented Ms. Maya Suess. Here are some photos from that cathartic performance thanks to Anne Grip and André Azevedo.
